Atom - Ages 8 - 10
Atom Program Details
The Atom program is designed for players born in 2014, 2015, or 2016, ages 8-10. Players must not turn 11 before December 31 of the playing year. There are no try-outs for the Atom program; all eligible players within the age range are welcome to participate.
Rules and Regulations
The rules of Atom Football ensure a safe and equitable playing experience for all participants:
- Each team has 10 players on the field at a time.
- Games are played on a half field, from the 45-yard line to the end zone.
- Games are structured as controlled scrimmages:
- Each team starts at the 45-yard line and runs 5 offensive plays.
- Teams alternate turns six times, resulting in 30 offensive plays per game.
- No scores or statistics are recorded.
- Games are overseen by one referee from each team, recommended by coaches; there are no formal referees.
- There is no kicking involved in Atom games.
- One coach from each team is permitted on the field.

PeeWee - Ages 11 - 12
Season Information for 2024
- Regular Season Start: August 1, 2024
- Practice Start: Practices begin after the long weekend in August. Registration is required to sign up for equipment pickup.
- Practice Schedule: Once registered, you will receive access to the practice schedule on Teamsnap. Practices are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30pm at John Laurie Park.
- Game Schedule: Games are held on Saturdays at Shouldice Athletic Park. The schedule will be updated on Teamsnap once it is finalized. Tentative game schedules are posted at https://www.calgarypeeweefootball.com/schedule.html
Bantam - Ages 13 - 15
Players eligible born in 2010 and 2011 can register for the Bantam program: ages 13-15.
Players must be 13-15 years old during playing year. Players cannot be turning 16 before December 31 of the playing year and can not be attending High School. Players who are 15 and going into grade 10 are not eligible.
